Instructional Clinic

Twin Oak's adult clinic offers a unique opportunity for both the novice and the intermediate player to hone his/her hockey skills. It is the right balance of skill development and game play that combines "work" and fun in one 90-minute session.

Skill development
The focus is on basic skills, such as, edge work, backwards skating, balance, puck handling, etc., along with a strong emphasis on game play and positioning. The ice will often be divided in half, as instructors address the particular needs of the individuals in each group.

Game play
After the "work" portion of the clinic, skaters have the opportunity to play in a controlled scrimmage where positioning and team play are learned. Participants receive coaching tips, game strategy, and a better understanding of the nuances of the game. This hands-on coaching environment allows skaters to learn why certain things are happening in a variety of game situations.

Progressive player development
• Each session includes a half-hour practice followed by a 1-hour game
• Game is controlled with professional coaches on both benches
• Learn positional play, game strategy, and review game video
